A 3-year-old boy was transported to the hospital in critical condition after he nearly drowned in a neighbor's pond in Logan County Monday afternoon.

According to the Logan County Sheriff's Office, emergency crews responded to the incident at a home, located in the 7600 block of Avery Circle, near Waterloo and Kelley in Logan County.

A babysitter was at the home with two children, ages three years and five months. They were all playing in the garage and driveway when the three-year-old boy went to play with some other neighborhood children beside the house.

The babysitter then went to look for the boy, and began searching with another neighbor. The child was located in a neighborhood pond.

When the boy was pulled from the pond, he was breathing on his own, according to the Sheriff's Office. The babysitter immediately began performing CPR on the boy.

The child was transported to the OU Medical Center in critical condition. His identity has not been released.
