One In Custody After Armed Robbery Attempt In MWC

One man was arrested after a botched armed robbery attempt in Midwest City, Saturday night.

Police in Midwest City say a man approached a woman in the parking lot of the Rain Tree Meadow apartments and brandished a firearm. The woman began to scream and the suspect ran off.

The husband of the victim gave chase, at which time the suspect tripped and his gun accidentally discharged. Neither the suspect nor the victim's husband was injured.

Police were able to get the suspect into custody not far from the scene.
