A search warrant filed in Oklahoma County Court this week reveals new information surrounding the deadly fire that took the life of a 7-year-old boy who was left home alone.

The warrant reveals the little boy's mother and her boyfriend left the house at 11:30 p.m. to go to a club. Hours later they would come home to find their house had been burned and broken into, and that 7-year-old Roberto had died.

Friends, family and even those who had never met little Roberto Avalos are still reeling from his death.

The search warrant reveals firefighters found the "7-year-old's body in a bedroom in the southeast corner" of the house late last month and that his body showed signs of" burns and smoke inhalation".

The Oklahoma Medical Examiner's office has still not ruled on the cause and manner of death, only saying the case is still pending. The search warrant goes on to say the fire "originated on a couch" and that there was no source for any sort of "accidental ignition" of fire found.

Investigators state the "drawers in the dresser were pulled out", the mattress on the bed had been pushed to one side and "clothing" appeared to have been removed from the closet of the master bedroom.

They also noted that the "TV" in the room appeared to be missing. And both neighbors and police confirmed the front door to the home on SW 51st near Villa had been kicked in; all signs that someone had broken into the home before they set fire to the place.

Whether they knew 7-year-old Roberto was sleeping in his room is still unknown. And the search warrant also states that any charges that might be filed in this case are pending, but they do not list any suspects at this time.

News 9 also doesn't know if the DA will file any charges against Roberto's mother and boyfriend for leaving her son alone while they went to the bar.
