Both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 40 have reopened in Midwest City after crews hauled away a semi that overturned early Thursday morning.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the crash happened shortly after 5 a.m. on Interstate 40 at Air Depot. Eastbound and westbound traffic were diverted off the highway for several hours while crews cleaned away the wreckage.

The westbound lanes reopened around 11 a.m. The eastbound lanes reopened just after 1 p.m.

The eastbound I-40 off-ramp at S.E. 29th St. and the westbound I-40 on-ramp from Air Depot Blvd. remain closed. Drivers are asked to locate an alternate route around the ramp closures and use caution in the area.

One person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. It's not yet known what caused the crash.
