Mother, Son Killed In Fire Near Prague

An 89-year-old woman and her 55-year-old son were found dead Monday after a fire swept through their trailer near the eastern Oklahoma town of Prague.

Another of Francis Heath's sons discovered her body, along with his brother Terry's, inside the trailer at 350710 E. 1020 Road. Investigators don't know yet how the fire started. Neither victim smoked, and investigators said it does not appear foul play was involved.

Firefighters said they believe the fire started near a couch. It apparently extinguished itself before crews arrived because no one opened any doors or windows, which would have allowed oxygen in to feed the flames.

The medical examiner will perform autopsies to determine how the mother and son died.
