Counselors Available For Families, Staff Of Moore Schools Hit By Tornado

On Thursday, May 30, professional counselors will be available to speak with students, parents and staff from Briarwood Elementary, Plaza Towers Elementary and Highland East Jr. High.

Professional counselors are teaming up to offer emotional support to children, parents and the staff of three Moore schools devastated by the May 20 tornado.

On Thursday, May 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the counselors will be available at Highland West Jr. High School, located at 901 N. Santa Fe in Moore, to speak with students, parents and staff from Briarwood Elementary, Plaza Towers Elementary and Highland East Jr. High.

Individuals interested in speaking with a counselor will be seen on a first-come, first -served basis are not required to make an appointment.

Briarwood Elementary and Plaza Towers Elementary were destroyed in the May 20 tornado. Highland East Jr. High was heavily damaged. Seven students died inside Plaza Towers Elementary and many others were injured in all three schools.
