Residents at Riverside Mobile Home Park in Midwest City will not be forced to leave because of heavy flooding after all.

Riverside was inundated with filthy floodwater and sewage when nearby levee's gave way and manhole covers blew open last weekend.

The park holds more than 100 mobile homes. Park Owner Steven Palenko says the city should have acted immediately and provided portable water pumps, because three of the five streets in the park are city-owned.

"Where were you five days ago? Why didn't you help us five days ago?" he said.

Assistant City Manager Tim Rundel says all of the city's extra portable water pumps were being used in other places.

"To say we haven't done anything or tried to help. That's unfair," said Rundel.

Rundel says the system that provides drinking water to the mobile home park appears to still be clean. He says the County Health Department is testing the water to make sure.
