LSU ended Oklahoma's season and advanced to the College World Series with an 11-1 win Saturday at Alex Box Stadium.

The Sooners grabbed the early lead, but a series of mistakes doomed them for the remainder of the game as Oklahoma matched a season high with four errors.

An error-filled top of the third allowed LSU to wrestle the lead from Oklahoma.

Mark Laird singled into right field, but Hunter Haley, in the outfield for the first time since May 18 due to a high ankle sprain, misfielded the ball for a two-base error. In the next at-bat, Alex Bregman hit a hard grounder that squirted by the glove of Matt Oberste into the outfield, allowing Laird to score.

In the fourth, Jones knocked a routine base hit into center field, but Max White was slow fielding the ball. Jones stretched the play into a double and then Jared Foster hit a two-out, RBI single two at-bats later.

The Tigers added a run in the sixth, plating Raph Rhymes, who drew a walk to lead the inning, with a safety squeeze as Overton labored following the extensive delay.

Jones, who is 4-for-4 in the game blasted a solo home run in the seventh, adding his second and LSU's fifth run to the board. Kyle Hayes, who relieved Overton after 5 2/3 innings, had retired six of seven batters before facing Jones.

The Sooners threatened in the bottom of the sixth without getting a hit as Jack Mayfield, hit by pitch, and Matt Oberste, walk, reached scoring position with two outs, but Nick Rumbelow, relieving Will LaMarche who took over after the weather delay, struck out Hector Lorenzana looking at a change-up.

With Taylor Alspaugh on first, Garrett Carey smacked a long fly to left that Rhymes caught leaping to the top of the wall, ending the seventh.

Any hope of a rally ended with the Tigers' six-run ninth inning.

Laird reached base on the Sooners' fourth error of the game, a trend that has doomed the Sooners since the early innings, Ty Ross doubled with the bases loaded, and JaCoby Jones scored on a wild pitch. Andrew Stevenson finished the scoring with an RBI single. Alex Edward singled to left center in the next at bat to plate Stevenson. All six runs were unearned.

Oklahoma took the early advantage in the first as it tries to even the best-of-three Super Regional series with LSU Saturday at Alex Box Stadium, but the Tigers struck back in the next inning.

Craig Aikin led off with a single and scored as White lifted a full-count fastball to right center. In the top of the frame, Overton survived a brief scare as Mason Katz's fly ball looked as it might have enough to carry the left field fence, but Aikin caught the ball at the warning track for the third out.

Rhymes led off the second with a single and was moved to second with a sacrifice bunt. Jones singled up the middle to score Rhymes and tie the game.

In the bottom of the second, the Sooners put two runners in scoring position, but couldn't get the hit to put them across the plate.

The game was delayed for 51 minutes due to a lightning strike and inclement weather following the fourth inning.
