Popular NW OKC Restaurant Destroyed By Fire

Fire destroys a popular seafood restaurant Thursday afternoon.

Crews were called to the fire at "The Shack Seafood and Oyster Bar," located at 303 N.W. 62nd Street, just before 2 p.m. Thursday.

Several explosions were reported to have come from the back of the building. No patients were transported. However, one person was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. 

Firefighters tell News 9 that the high temperatures made battling the blaze more difficult. That's why EMSA set up a triage in case any firefighters became overheated.

No word on what started the fire. It remains under investigation.
