St. Gregory's University has begun replacing the turrets that were destroyed back in 2011 when an earthquake rocked Shawnee.
The 5.6 magnitude quake struck November 5, 2011, toppling the turrets atop Benedictine Hall. Friday, crews installed steel in the southwest turret. The southeast turret will be put into place Friday, June 21.
The school says the new turrets are earthquake proof.
