The Oklahoma Attorney General's Office has unveiled a new, free mobile app that allows crime victims to track inmates.
The Victim Information and Notifications Everyday (VINE) program is a free service that notifies people about the status changes of Oklahoma inmates. The VINE mobile app now allows both crime victims and the public to use their smart phones or tablets to receive notices about inmates, including general release dates, escapes, captures, deaths and court appearances.
"By providing a new mobile app for VINE we are giving crime victims and their families vital updates to help keep them safe," Attorney General Scott Pruitt said. "The hands-on app is easy to use and provides victims instant access to information 24 hours a day year round."
To sign up for the VINE program, Oklahomans can log onto www.vinelink.com or call (877) OK4-VINE.
