An officer-involved shooting turned deadly Wednesday afternoon in the Creston Hills neighborhood.
Oklahoma City Police say they got a disturbance call from 2408 Northeast 26th St. at 4:30 p.m.
Police say when they arrived, a man came out of nearby bushes with a rifle and shot at police. Responding officers fired back, striking the suspect. He died later Wednesday at OU Medical Center.
Witnesses say the man had his back turned and was running from police when he was shot. Police Spokesman Dexter Nelson says if anyone fires at police, just because they turn their back and run away doesn't mean police are not completely justified in giving chase and returning fire.
"It's all under investigation," he said.
