Brandon Christian, 30, and an unidentified family member brought 32-year-old Desiree Hill to the Pauls Valley General Hospital emergency room on June 24. At the time, doctors say Hill was unresponsive and had internal injuries and visible trauma to her body.

Officers arrested Christian that evening for a felony charge of domestic assault and battery resulting in great bodily harm. He was taken to the Garvin County Detention Center where he remains on a $250,000 bond.

Hill was transferred from Pauls Valley General to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where she was pronounced dead just after 6 p.m. on June 27. Hill had a significant injury to the brain which may have led to her death, according to the Sheriff's Office.

While being held in jail, deputies say Christian caused injury to himself, but is now back in custody after receiving medical treatment at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Christian has a lengthy arrest record and a 2010 conviction for aggravated assault and battery in Garvin County District Court.
