An Oklahoma City man was arrested Wednesday night after police say he attacked his girlfriend. Officers also found illegal drugs at the apartment he was living at.
According to Oklahoma City police, officers responded to the report of a domestic assault at an apartment complex in the 700 block of S. MacArthur Blvd.
The victim told police she started arguing with her boyfriend, 22-year-old Aaron Hucks, at their apartment, and that's when he punched her. The victim said she was able to get away. However, Hucks began chasing her with a knife and at one point, slashed her backpack with the knife.
The victim ran into the front office for help. Police say Hucks followed her into the office, threw her on the ground, and dragged her into the bathroom. The victim told police Hucks then began choking her and threw her against the toilet seat.
The victim said when she got out of the bathroom, Hucks pulled out his gun and pointed it at her.
A worker at the front office witnessed the assault, according to police.
Officers found Hucks at his apartment as they arrived at the scene. They also found two small baggies and a glass pipe at the apartment. Police say one baggie contained marijuana and the other one contained a crystal white substance, later tested positive for meth.
Hucks was arrested on several charges, including assault and battery by strangulation, possession of meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, and possession of firearm in commission of a felony.
Because the apartment lease is under the victim's name, she was also arrested on charges of possession of illegal drugs.
