Prince William and Kate have introduced their newborn baby boy to the world.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge posed for photographs with their son outside St. Mary's Hospital in London on Tuesday evening, one day after the baby was born. They emerged from the hospital just after 7 p.m., local time.
William and Kate, both 31, beamed stood with their first child on the steps leading up to the hospital's Lindo Wing, just as Prince Charles and Princess Diana did with William in 1982 and his brother, Prince Harry, in 1984.
"It's such a special time," Kate said, addressing the media gathered outside the hospital.
"He's got a good set of lungs," William added.
The royal couple were both dressed in blue -- Kate donned a short-sleeved dress with white polka dots, while William wore a button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up. The baby was swaddled in a white blanket.
Earlier Tuesday, William, Kate and the baby received two sets of visitors -- first was Kate's parents, Mike and Carole Middleton (who gushed that the baby boy is "absolutely beautiful"), followed later by Charles and wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. Visiting his grandson for the first time, the Prince of Wales said the baby is "marvelous."
The baby boy, whose name has not yet been announced, was born Monday at 4:24 p.m., weighing in at 8 lbs., 6 oz.
