A deadline is approaching to apply for disaster unemployment aid in three Oklahoma counties hit by severe storms and tornadoes from May 18-June 2.

A deadline is approaching to apply for disaster unemployment aid in three Oklahoma counties hit by severe storms and tornadoes from May 18-June 2.

Residents of Okfuskee, Okmulgee and LeFlore counties have until Wednesday, July 31 to apply for the assistance.

The disaster unemployment aid is available to workers and self-employed individuals who lost work or earnings because of the storms and tornadoes. The aid is for those who don't qualify for regular state unemployment benefits.

Information is available through the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission Unemployment Insurance Service Center at 1-800-555-1554 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
