The Oklahoma Memorial and Museum received a big gift.

Businesses and individuals from across the state came together to donate more than $1 million to the Memorial's "9:03 campaign".

The funds will be used to help the memorial expand the archive in an effort to share Oklahoma's story with the world. Cox Communications says giving back, remembering and honoring our past is part of every Oklahoman's heart.

"The hard work of the employees and the customers we have in this area generated that money and that revenue, and when somebody in the community comes and asks us for something meaningful like this it's our pleasure to be a part of it," said Alex Taylor with Cox Communications.

David Griffin, Chairman and CEO of Griffin Communications, owner of News 9, also made a generous donation of $100,000.
