Police arrested a woman after her roommate accused her of repeatedly throwing a puppy against a wall.
Police were called to the 1900 block of N. Cherry, near N.E. 23rd Street and N. Sunnylane, just before 10 p.m. on August 2. A woman holding a puppy came out of the residence. The animal was obviously injured; it had bloody mucus coming from its mouth, its eyes were swollen and it appeared to have trouble breathing.
Officers questioned the woman. She said her roommate, 18-year-old Shaneeka Thompson, became "enraged" when the dog urinated in her bed. The woman said Thompson threw the puppy against a wall twice, and then threw the dog outside.
The woman said she was scared so she grabbed her purse and began to leave the residence. She said as she was leaving Thompson pushed and kicked her, and yelled that she hoped both the woman and the puppy died.
Officers arrested Thompson and booked her into the Oklahoma County jail for animal cruelty.
