The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says it's investigating a murder-suicide after a woman and a 14-year-old boy were found dead inside two neighboring homes just outside Coleman, Oklahoma.
On Monday, August 12, neighbors went to the home at 11700 Highway 48 South to deliver fresh vegetables. They found a woman's body inside the house. She'd apparently been shot in the head.
The neighbors called the Johnston County Sheriff's Office. When deputies arrived, they checked a nearby house and found the body of 14-year-old Ross Whitmire. Deputies believe he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Both bodies have been taken to the medical examiner to determine an official cause and manner of death.
Doctors will also confirm the identity of the female victim. The OSBI says her wounds were so significant, they will not release her name until they are certain of her identity.
