Firefighters responded to four wildfires near Shawnee Friday afternoon.
One wildfire was located along I-40 and Kickapoo in Pottawatomie County.
The fire appeared to have sparked on a patch of grass along I-40 and later spread to Boaties, Inc. on N. Bryan St. near mile marker 185 and 186.
Boaties' owner, Donnie Romberg, said the wildfire burned $400,000 in boats and equipment. He said he had no insurance on the boats in the yard.
A second fire flared up in a field a 1/2 mile from the boat fire. Crews quickly contained this fire.
Traffic flow on I-40 was not disrupted, and firefighters kept all four fires from crossing the interstate and affecting nearby neighborhoods.
No injuries were reported.
