Dozens of Shawnee mobile home park residents have 60 days to move out of their mobile homes. Some have lived there for decades.
Last weekend, Meadow Ridge Mobile Home Park residents got the 60-day notices. The notices said the well water there is unsafe to drink, it will cost $200,000 to fix it and everyone has to be out by June 10.
However, many Meadow Ridge residents own their mobile homes and said 60 days doesn't give them enough time. Others in the park said park management never told them there was a problem with the drinking water to start with.
Tiffany Bierd has lived in a mobile home in Meadow Ridge for three years.
"Nobody has told," said Bierd. "I have lived here three years, nobody's told me the water is bad until today."
Meadow Ridge's manager shut her door in our faces without giving us an explanation this afternoon.
Long-time Meadow Ridge resident Debra Wyrick said the tenants deserve better.
"And I think it's just a crock," Wyrick added.
