A small earthquake was recorded near the town of Perry, Friday evening.

The quake weighed in at a 3.1 on the Richter scale. It struck just before 6 p.m., nine miles to the south of Perry, Okla., or about 47 miles north northeast of the OKC metro, at a depth of about a mile.

No damage or injuries have been reported with this earthquake.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
