A small earthquake was recorded near Edmond, Friday afternoon.

The quake was measured at a 3.4 on the Richter scale. It struck just before 3 p.m., four miles southeast of Edmond, or about 11 miles northeast of the OKC metro, at a depth of about six miles.

No damage or injuries have been reported with either earthquake.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
