What is your reason for running? "I am running for the United States Senate because I am deeply concerned for the future of our country. We need a new generation of conservative leaders who will balance the budget, end the debt, and get spending under control. As Oklahoma's Speaker of the House, I have a record of reducing debt, lowering taxes, reforming welfare and balancing our budget. We did those things here in Oklahoma, and with the right leadership, we can do them in Washington, D.C."
Why should Oklahomans vote for you? "When I was selected by my GOP colleagues to be the Speaker of the Oklahoma House, I took my oath as a committed conservative determined to oppose debt, control spending, balance the budget and protect traditional values. I vowed that our state would not go down the path of Washington, D.C. I'm proud of the things we were able to accomplish. We reduced our debt, balanced the budget, reformed welfare, and we stopped the ObamaCare Medicaid expansion. That is the kind of leadership we need in the United States Senate, and I have a proven record of achieving conservative results."
