Hometown: Lexington, OK

What is your reason for running? "Public Education in Oklahoma is in great peril. I am running for this office to be an advocate for what is best for the children of Oklahoma. I want to maximize their ability to compete in a global arena. I don't believe the current State Superintendent has the leadership skills to do that. As a current school leader I have observed and experienced the impact of her lack of knowledge and leadership skills. Our children, their families, our schools, our teachers and our communities have been negatively affected. I refuse to give up on public education or to sit idly by and see it destroyed."

Why should Oklahomans vote for you? "I am qualified with more than 40 years of proven success as an innovative leader. I have with high standards and a reputation for doing what is best for children. I understand what it is like to be a parent, a teacher and a school administrator. I am a 15–year veteran classroom teacher, a curriculum specialist who has trained thousands of teachers and I have been a school administrator for the past 14 years. Having served in different size schools, I understand the issues faced by rural, suburban and inner city communities. I have the skills to lead the development a strategic plan for Oklahoma education. I can lead stakeholders toward a common vision of academic excellence without harming children and communities."
