Governor Mary Fallin has until the end of the week to decide the fate of a bill that would repeal tough education standards in math and English that are known as Common Core.
Fallin has been a strong supporter of the more rigorous standards, but there has been growing concern, especially among grassroots conservatives, that the standards represent a federal takeover of the state's public education system.

On the final day of the legislative session, the House and Senate pushed through a 58-page bill that repeals the standards, which already have been adopted by Oklahoma and more than 40 other states.
