Overnight Earthquake Reported In Okfuskee County

The United States Geological Survey reported a 3.0 magnitude earthquake in Okfuskee County overnight.

At 12:50 a.m. Sunday, a quake was recorded four miles southwest of Boley, 24 miles northeast of Shawnee, at a depth of over three miles.

There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.

According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
