It seems something in your medicine cabinet can double as an anti-aging formula.
Apparently, taking ibuprofen does more than ease our pain. It could also hold the key to a long and healthy life.
Researchers from Newcastle University say it might help people with age-related illnesses like diabetes and dementia from growing old.
Scientists did a number of experiments on mice and found inflammation helps drive aging. When they gave the little guys ibuprofen, the animals were able to repair damage, slowing down the effects.
Researchers say it's unlikely to improve the illness, but the painkiller might slow its progression.
Doctors stress the pills can cause indigestion and stomach ulcers. You could also battle inflammation by eating foods to combat it, for example blueberries.
