The President today announced that since Congress is grid locked on immigration reform, he's going to take charge and send more resources to the border, but I did not hear him say he's going to secure the border.
And no matter what you're hearing, if 9 and 10-year-olds are streaming across our border it is not secure.
Securing the border has to be accomplished first or we're wasting our time, and yes I'm talking about fences, drones and more manpower.
How do you pay for it? We can start by canceling the foreign aid we're planning to send to the 4 countries most responsible for the crisis on our southern border.
Mexico has asked for $137 million from us American taxpayers this year, Guatemala $77 million, Honduras $48 million dollars and El Salvador $28 million.
I say we use it on this side of the border instead and tell Mexico and the others, we'll put you back on the nice list once you secure you're side and start hammering these people trafficking illegal immigrants into our country; and if that's not enough we'll tighten the screws economically. This is a crisis.
A Texas congressman just today introduced a bill to freeze aid to those countries, it's a good start but we need to have even more punitive measures ready if that doesn't get their attention.
