Authorities arrested a man who is accused of shooting a gun while driving under the influence of alcohol last Thursday night in Harrah.

According to the Oklahoma County Sheriff's office, just after 11 p.m., a deputy responded to the report of a man driving recklessly while shooting a weapon in the 8200 block of N. Harrah Road. When the deputy arrived, he saw the suspect, 53-year-old David J. Wall, crashing his pickup into a tree and then driving it through some bushes.

The deputy said Wall was discharging a firearm from inside the truck. He then stopped the truck and spoke with Wall and said that he could smell an odor of alcohol.

Wall admitted to shooting his 9mm firearm at several trees on his property. Authorities said one of the trees was near a house with a family inside.

Wall reportedly told the deputy that he was shooting his gun because of the July 4th holiday. Wall took a Breathalyzer test and blew more than twice the legal limit of .08 BAC, according to the Sheriff's office.

Wall was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of discharging a firearm from a vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol, and carrying a firearm under the influence of alcohol. He is being held on $28,000 bond.
