ESPN senior reporter Marc Stein is reporting that Thunder coach Scott Brooks and Lakers' free agent forward Pau Gasol met on Monday.
Gasol is the No. 1 target for Oklahoma City in free agency and was visited in Los Angeles last week by Thunder All-Stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
The Thunder is reported by some to be the leading candidate for the four-time all-star and two-time NBA champion power forward. Oklahoma City is competing with New York, San Antonio, Chicago and the Lakers as a potential landing spot for Gasol.
The 7-footer averaged 17.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game for Los Angeles this past season.
The Thunder is also rumored to be the leading candidate for the services of sharpshooter Anthony Morrow, who averaged 45 percent from 3-point range last season. Morrow averaged 8.4 points per game for the Pelicans last season and is a career 42.8-percent shooter from 3.
