Boy, 3, Killed After Being Hit By Vehicle In NW OKC

A 3-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a vehicle in northwest Oklahoma City, Wednesday afternoon.

At about 1 p.m., crews responded to the accident in a McDonald's parking lot at NW Expressway and Council.

According to police, a mother and her two children, ages 3 and 4, were walking through the parking lot. The 3-year-old boy broke away from his mother. All three were then hit by an SUV.

The 3-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Both the mother and the 4-year-old boy were taken to the hospital. Police say the mother suffered several broken bones, and the 4-year-old had bumps and bruises.

According to police, the driver of the SUV, a 23-year-old woman, was distracted by another car at the time of the accident. She isn’t being cited.

Police have not identified anyone involved in the accident.
