A two-and-a-half-month-old baby tested positive for meth in Logan County. The child's mother, 31-year-old Robyn Pearson, was arrested and charged for the crime. The case came to light after a DHS worker was visiting a home near Guthrie and noticed one of the children just wasn't acting right.

As you pull up to the house, dogs immediately start carrying on, but Logan County investigators say a two-and-a-half-month-old baby didn't bat an eye when several of those dogs were jumping on top of and around the infant boy.

Investigators were called to the home after a DHS worker believed the children who live there were in danger and may have been exposed to drugs.

“During that time they encountered a two-and-a-half-month-old little boy who wasn’t acting appropriately for his age and development,” Logan County Chief Deputy Richard Stephens said.

Detectives say when they visited the house, the infant "appeared to be unusually calm, still and had a deep stare like a '1,000 yard stare.'" DHS took the baby and two other young children into custody and immediately rushed the two month old to the hospital to be tested for drugs.

“The infant tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine which was probably ingested through breast milk from the mother,” Stephens said.

Court records state Pearson said she would "pump her breast milk for 24 hours after she used drugs that might be harmful to an infant and then would discard the harmful breast milk."

She also said "she might of started breast feeding a couple of hours too early."

Pearson told a DHS worker she used meth a week prior after the DHS worker told her to clean her house.

Documents state Pearson claims "she only used meth until she was out and used formula at that time and did not state what date she ran out, because she only stays at home and does not get out and loses track of what date it is."

“Drug abuse and passing it on to endanger children is a terrible problem all across the Unites States and especially in Oklahoma,” Stephens said.

Nobody answered the door at the home. Pearson is charged with one felony count of child endangerment.
