A memorial service is being held today for the man who drowned in Lake Thunderbird last weekend.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today for 26-year-old Michael Thomas.
Michael’s body was recovered from Lake Thunderbird on June 6.
Authorities said Michael drowned after getting into trouble as he was swimming across the cove on the eastern side of the lake. His brother, 27-year-old James Thomas, swam out to save Michael, but he also began to have problems.
A group of people on shore, including an off-duty nurse, saved James, and he was transported to a local hospital.
The location of the memorial service was not provided.
