Two people were killed after their car crashed into a semi-truck early Friday morning in Enid.

According to police, at about 12:35 a.m., officers responded to the wreck at the intersection of 54th Street and U.S. Highway 412.

A 2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by 38-year-old Richard Walker was traveling at a high rate of speed with only one functional headlight, when it crashed into a semi-truck at the intersection, police said.

Both Walker and his passenger, who has not been identified, were killed in the crash.

Officers say they could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Walker’s car, and they also found a full can of beer in the car.
