Oklahoma City Police are searching for two suspects after they say two women were stabbed overnight in Bricktown.

Officers responded to two fights around 2 a.m. Sunday at the IHOP near Sheridan and Joe Carter Avenues. Police got the call about a woman who was attacked in the parking lot and another woman was also stabbed. They believe both fights could be related.

"It is shocking when things like that happen because they don't happen that often," said Bricktown Brewery manager, Rebecca Bennett.

Bennett says their bar stays open to 2 a.m. like all the others, so crowds can get out of hand. But she says most businesses are prepared.

"We take as many precautions as we can to make sure our staff is safe, but for the most part, the police are really good about monitoring the streets and making sure that everybody's safe."

Crime scene investigators taped off the area while the IHOP stayed open for business. Firefighters washed off the sidewalks after the brawl from the club turned bloody. The stabbing is enough to make some Bricktown-goers question their safety.

"It just gets really crazy and chaotic, and then there's been stabbings and car accidents and things like that. I wouldn’t bring my son here at night," said Amber Artis, who serves in the Air Force at Tinker.

Bill Atterberry of Oklahoma City says his family has never had any problems at Bricktown before.

“I've always felt safe in the past, just hope it doesn't get worse with things like that. It depends on how bad it gets. If it gets too bad, we won't come down here," Atterberry said.

But others hope this is an isolated incident.

“I think it's perfectly safe. Incidents happen everywhere,” said Joetta Judkins, a Nicoma Park resident. “For the most part, it's safe here. Everybody comes down here and it's a good time."

Police have questioned a few witnesses and are still searching for two female suspects.

Both female victims were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover.
