The Big 12 Conference released its 2014 Preseason All-Big 12 Football Team as voted on by the media. Oklahoma State's Tyreek Hill was picked Newcomer of the Year and Oklahoma tallied four total selections to the team and had representatives from offense (OL Daryl Williams), defense (LB Eric Striker, CB Zack Sanchez) and special teams (K Michael Hunnicutt).
Hill transferred from Garden City Community College where he made 32 catches for 532 yards and six touchdowns as a sophomore. He also carried the ball 101 times for 659 yards and five scores. After enrolling at Oklahoma State in January, Hill made an immediate impact on the Cowboy track team by winning the 200 meters and placing second in the 60 meters at the Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championship to help OSU to its first Conference men's team title.
Williams led the Sooner's O-line a year ago and proved his versatility by spending time at both tackle positions. He was an All-Big 12 Second-Team selection in 2013.
Hunnicutt connected on 47-of-48 extra points and 24-of-27 field goals last year when he was a semifinalist for the Groza Award. He was also named to the All-Big 12 Second-Team in 2013.
Striker was also named to the All-Big 12 Second-Team in 2013 and started all 13 games for the Sooners. He had a career night against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl when he recorded three sacks and seven tackles.
Sanchez made an immediate impact as a redshirt-freshman last season finishing with 46 tackles, 13 pass breakups and two interceptions. He was named a Freshman All-American by the FWAA.
