Thunder first-round draft pick, Mitch McGary, got his first taste of helping out in the Oklahoma City community today, joining 75 kids at the Thunder's Youth Basketball camp at Casady school.
McGary is known for his talent on the basketball court, but surprised everybody with his hobbies off of it.
"I talked to Jim Rome about this yesterday, riding my unicycle," said McGary. "It's one of my hobbies. I recently learned how to juggle, so I have to put those together if basketball falls through, just join the circus."
After pleasantly surprising Thunder fans with his play during the NBA's Summer League last week, his career choice is a wise one. McGary will compete for playing time in an already crowded Thunder front court, but looks forward to the opportunity of playing at the next level.
"I transitioned to that a little easier than I thought and expected, McGary said. "The intensity level definitely picked up a little bit, the skill level of some guys are way up there. Way above college level, so it's a little different adjusting, but I had a good time with it."
