A portion of Interstate 35 in Edmond was backed up early Thursday morning as crews worked to clear the scene of a semi-truck wreck.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, just after midnight, a semi-truck hit a pillar under the bridge on Interstate 35 at 2nd Street. The semi then jackknifed and spilled a load of gravel.

Troopers said the wet roads played a role. I-35 was shut down for about 20 minutes.

The driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
