Several police agencies are still involved in a McClain County manhunt that began around 8:30 Thursday morning.

Investigators said 31-year-old Curtis Lee Johnson and two other suspects were in the process of burglarizing a warehouse just east of Goldsby Airport.

Sheriff’s deputies cornered all three, handcuffed them and stuck them in the back of Sheriff’s cruisers.

However, Sheriff Don Hewett said Johnson still managed to wriggle free and run away.

The search stretches across two and a half miles of dense treeline just east of the airport.

“Keep your doors locked, keep your cars locked, take your keys out,” said Sheriff Hewett, Thursday night. “We’ll be here all night until we catch him.”
