Edmond Man Accused Of Child Crimes While On Mission Trip To Kenya

An Edmond man is accused in Federal Court of molesting young orphan children in Nairobi, Kenya.

Matthew Durham, 19, has been a volunteer at a children’s home in Nairobi. That home was founded by an Edmond couple.

Court documents show Durham confessed to one of the founders of that home that he sexually molested between four and 10 children back in June.

Many details of the allegations are lurid. Durham’s Defense Attorney Stephen Jones says the allegations are not true.

“The FBI is relying on what third parties have told them,” he told News 9 by phone Monday afternoon.

Durham is being held without bond in the Logan County Jail. His first court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 1.
