An inmate who escaped from a deputy's patrol car in McClain County, is back in custody.

Curtis Lee Johnson, 31, has been taken into custody and booked into the McClain County Jail. According to authorities, Johnson was arrested without incident in Midwest City between 9:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, after someone called in a tip.

“He walked from the cornfield in Goldsby, all the way to his residence in Midwest City. Said he just got there when police came and picked him up,” said McClain County Sheriff, Don Hewett.

Deputies issued an arrest warrant for Johnson last Friday. According to authorities, Johnson and two other people, identified as Joseph Gingrich, 50, and Geraldine Claunch, 41, were arrested for burglarizing a warehouse near the 500 block of Burr Oak in Goldsby.
