Both parents are still locked up at the Oklahoma County Jail on a $10,000 bond, but today was the first time we got a look at both the little girls mother and father since they were arrested on Tuesday.

It appears they can't believe they are accused of harming their baby girl.

Jennifer Martin, 26, rolled her eyes as she heard the judge read the complaint against her.

Both she and the child's father, 22-year-old Allen Englehorn, appeared for their video arraignment Thursday afternoon.

Englehorn appeared stoic as he listened to the judge.

Those who knew the couple still can't believe they stand accused of hurting their six-month-old baby girl, one of two twins born at the first of the year.

“The little girl had numerous bruises,” said Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow when questioned about the arrest on Tuesday. “Also had a brain bleed - very significant injuries.”

Oklahoma City police say doctors at the Southwest Medical Center emergency room alerted them about the little girl's injuries after she was brought in by her parents Monday night.

“Based off of what our officers found, what the doctors found, the injuries to the child,  the story was not consistent with this child's injuries,” said Sgt. Wardlow. “And ultimately, it was decided that they would be arrested.”

Court papers filed Thursday state the doctor described these injuries to be non-accidental trauma with immediate onset of symptoms from the brain bleed.

Those court papers go on the say both Martin and Englehorn maintain they were the sole care provider for the child both prior to and at the time the child started showing symptoms, but that neither parent could provide any explanation as to the cause of the child's injuries.

In the original police report, both Martin and Englehorn stated they had just put the twins in their crib for the night, when they heard the girl screaming and crying.

Englehorn claimed he rushed to check on her, and she went limp in his arms.

Police say the little girl is expected to live and is expected to be released from the hospital Thursday. Her other two siblings are in the care of a relative.
