A Chickasha man died almost one week after being injured in a wreck in Grady County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Benjamin Heath Parr died Saturday from injuries sustained in the wreck. The collision report states Parr was transported by Life Flight to OU Medical Center last Sunday with head, trunk internal, trunk external, arm and leg injuries.

The wreck occurred at 5:30 a.m. on July 20, 2014, just east of County Road 2940 on State Highway 39 in Grady County.

OHP said Parr was driving a 2001 GMC pickup on eastbound State Highway 39, when he departed the roadway to the right, overcorrected, went into a broad slide and struck a tree.

The OHP report states the cause of the collision as “unsafe speed - exceeding legal limit.”
