A Purcell man was killed after he crashed his car in Cleveland County, Saturday morning.

A Purcell man was killed after he crashed his car in Cleveland County, Saturday morning.

It happened just after 6 a.m. Saturday, on U.S. Highway 77, just north of Moffatt Road in Cleveland County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Keith Hedrick was driving a 1998 Ford Mustang on southbound U.S. Highway 77 when he left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a concrete culvert.

A spokesperson for the Slaughterville Fire Department tells News 9 they arrived on scene within six minutes of the crash. They say the driver was already deceased and that they left the scene "as is" until OHP and the medical examiner could arrive and make an official report.

According to OHP, Hedrick died at the scene from massive injuries.

The cause of the collision and the condition of the driver are still under investigation.
