One person was killed and several others injured in two-vehicle collision in Caddo County, Monday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to the crash just before 6 p.m. at US 62 and County Street 2740. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a van driven by 64-year-old Donna Sadongei was northbound on County Street 2740 when it failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled into the path of a pickup truck.

After being hit by the pickup, the van ran off the roadway to the left, coming to rest in the ditch. The pickup came to rest in the roadway.

Sadongei was transported to Mercy Hospital in critical condition. A passenger in her van, 55-year-old Lucy Domebo Harry of Lawton, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where she later died.

Another passenger in Sadongei’s van, 59-year-old Roxie Melencamp, refused treatment at the scene.

Troopers said both Sadongei and Melencamp were wearing seat belts, but Harry was not wearing one at the time of the collision.

The driver of the pickup truck, 40-year-old Denise Stidmam of Anadarko, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition. A juvenile passenger in her pickup was also transported to the hospital, but was treated and released.

Both Stidman and her passenger were wearing seatbelts.

Troopers have listed the cause of the collision as “failure to stop at a stop sign” in the OHP collision report.
