Oklahoma City police arrested a man after officers said they found 57 pounds of marijuana in his car.
According to police, on Saturday, August 16, an officer pulled over a car for multiple traffic violations at S. Interstate 40 and Agnew.
The driver, 44-year-old Jack Lawrence Mayle, gave the officer conflicting stories about his trip, according to police. The officer said he saw a number of cellphones and signs of continued travel in the car. So he asked for and received consent to search the vehicle.
A K-9 officer was brought to the scene and was alerted to the odor of narcotics in the car. Officers then searched the car and found several bundles containing marijuana in the storage compartments of the car.
The total weight of the marijuana was 57 pounds, according to police.
Mayle was arrested on drug trafficking charges.
