3.1 Magnitude Earthquake Reported In Oklahoma County

The United States Geological Survey reported an earthquake in Oklahoma County, Sunday afternoon.

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake was reported at 1:49 p.m. Sunday, two miles north, northeast of Jones and six miles north of Choctaw. The depth was over three miles.

There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.

According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
