Overnight storms along the Oklahoma / Kansas border continue to fire, giving heavy rains. These storms are going on behind the cool front which is making its way across the metro Tuesday morning.
The front may stall out or push back to the north mid-morning. Storms will focus on where the frontal boundary is at that time of the day.
The rest of the state will be partly cloudy and warm Tuesday morning, with 70s and 80s temperatures. Later, it will be hot and windy with a high near 96 degrees.
Some areas may not reach the mid-90s if they find themselves in the rain cooled air or clouds from a thunderstorm.
Tuesday night, it will be hot and dry for most of the region with overnight lows in the 70s.
