Bob Stoops confirmed defensive tackle Quincy Russell is no longer on the OU football team as of Monday. Russell indicated on his Facebook page that he has been kicked off the team.

Stoops said Russell "just wasn't able to do the things everyone else was doing and eventually that just doesn't work."

Russell's post read “Well good bye Oklahoma. Time to find a new home.”

In response to friends' posts asking what happened, Russell responded “I got kicked off,” and that he was told he was “a cancer to the team.” Russell is not listed on Oklahoma's roster.

The 6-foot-4, 310-pounder came to OU from Trinity Valley Community College late last summer after a long period of speculation whether or not he would qualify. He played sparingly in 2013 and had not appeared in 2014.
